'08 Z4 ///M in Nashville.
I'm seriously thinking about buying this car. I currently have a '07 SI coupe and have always wished I'd gotten the ///M instead. This looks like a killer deal and, from what I've researched on here, and from input by people on Facebook, it was built by member "Diokaef". I would suspect that the upgrade list below is missing a few things and would appreciate any info I can get on it. My iPhone is limiting me on my post options and not letting me send Diokaef a direct pm. The asking price on the car is $35,981. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listin gId=112255234&listingRecNum=21&criteria=sf1Dir%3DD ESC%26stkTyp%3DU%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D0-0-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26isDealerGro uping%3Dfalse%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705%26dlI d%3D420874&aff=national&listType=1 This is the list that the dealer emailed me... Link doesn't work for me, dug around and found it though.
Nice car and low miles, that hood is a bit "fast and furious" for my taste though. I know miles are low, but $36k is a lot of money.... mods don't usually add to a used cars value, although enthusiast cars like these can be somewhat of an exception (that push-button start definitely won't be of any value to you ). I'm not sure the $10k premium over a similar car with 20k more miles is worth it. Nearly all issues with this car are well documented, and I don't think there would necessarily be a drastic decline in reliability/quality going to one with ~30k miles, which I've seen sell in the mid-$20k's. Just my .02 Same-year M3/M6 can be had for about the same price ($35k-ish). I understand the appeal of the simple small coupe, but I also understand the appeal of the S65 V8 or that monster V10 |

I think anywhere closer to the $31-32k mark on this car is a very good deal given that you're the type of buyer that obviously places some value on parts he/she may buy after the purchase of an otherwise stock car. If you're "saving" money by buying a car with parts you like, then it's your call. If I could sell dirty socks for $10/pair, then by golly that's what they're worth. Same goes for mods.

wasn't a fan of the hood vents or start switch, but the other mods are solid. If you were already going down that road, negotiate a lower price and pick up this car. $32k would be a good buy.

Easier link to digest.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M...77053694#v4-36 Looks like a good number of solid mods, and then some questionable aesthetic ones (hood, EZ pin thing). Low miles too. Get a Carfax or history, and see if you can get it checked out by an independent BMW shop that can take a look at general condition and the mods. Good luck! |

Well worth a look. Dio kept that car well, and assuming it's been reasonably driven and maintained, it would scratch that ///M itch. Hood isn't my thing either, but I would't let that deter me. New hood is 1,200, paint probably 300-400, so figure roughly 1,500 if you really don't care for it. Has the prototype DKF exhaust as well, which, IIRC, sounds incredible.

if memory serves me right, he claimed he sold that car for some crazy $$ (50K+)
There is a ton of threads on his mods and adventures. Before Villa, DKF used to be the source of entertainment around here. Good old days

finding an m coupe at a dealer with less than 50k miles under $30k is impossible...I just bought mine a month ago, and most cars around 30k go for 32-35k
being moded should really push the value down from a dealer, it's just a liability for them |

I saw this car on Ebay. Some decent mods, but the hood vents are unfortunate.
The comfort access is the one thing that scares me, good luck if that ever fails. And I haven't followed this build on here, but does the car even have cats? I see the mid pipe cats appear to be gone, but does the car have OEM headers w/cats anymore? Would be real hard to register this if it had no cats. At least where I live it would. |

The car is hot. It's just not for everyone. It's the list of things you would do if you had 2 z4's and lots of money.
Someone definitely lost some money, since its last sell |

So where would my fully loaded Black Sapphire on black leather (except for extended leather) with 3,700 miles sell? Not that I would even consider doing that!

I wouldn't buy it, just not seeing the value.
The first thing I'd do is buy an original hood and remove the EZ pin (which means new carbon leather dash, as there's a hole in it). So out the gate I'd be looking at about 3k in de-modding. The exhaust is really great though. So if you like the mods, see if you can bring the price a bit down and go for it.
