Cheap intake alternative...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Intake-B...56952489808583
Im planning on keeping my stock system because im not entirely happy with any other intake system on the market (outside of csl). That being said, for any of you that just want some induction growl i think this could fit the bill, literally. If it actually does seal on the hood that would be nice and i would argue, better than most aftermarket intakes ive seen. |

The filter part looks really cheap, wonder if you could order the aFe filter for $70: http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...rtno=24-91021& and use that one?

Not just BMW's MAF, all MAF do not like oil. The key is not over oil your filter and you will be ok

That's a great find, for that price someone should test it out!
One quick rant on my opinion on this though...I've owned both the AFE and GruppeM intakes for our cars, and it amazed me how different the two sounded. Now don't get me wrong, both sounded great, but where one was loud and bassy, the other was more refined and detailed. They were both basically the same "design" in theory, just like the linked ebay item, but sounded vastly different. Make sure to keep that in mind because more likely than not this ebay piece will sound different than those two. Now what would be really cool is if this ebay piece sounded better than the GruppeM! Oh and performance wise, unless you are picky they are all (AFE, GruppeM, and OEM) about the same at the end of the day, I did a write up a while back on this somewhere on this forum if you want to read the details. |
