What I heard (this is third hand...) was the red car that hit the other, was behind the video car. He for some reason did not see the black car sitting in the infield at turn one, misjudged his speed, hit the slick spot on the track, (you can see this when the video car has his swiggle..) spun right across the infield and took out the car in front of the video car.

btw random question but incidents like this... how are they resolved? say both parties had track insurance, is the red car liable for both damage?

Everyone is talking about this incident. There are multiple viewpoints from in car videos from multiple cars. And many people are criticizing the flagging. There is an oil slick at the end of the main straight. Several (more than 2 I think prior to the crash) cars go off, and several others almost go off over several minutes, and then this happens. Hard to understand why they didn't intervene more aggressively...

It's racing, each party pays to fix their own car.

He might be placed on probation, and the other guy might be really pissed at him, but that is usually about it. If you cause too many incidents, you most likely will not have too much of a future in any organization.
