Air bag light on seat belt light off

I've got a air bag light on. My seat belt light and buzzer never turns on. I have the DIS INPA diagnostic software and cable. It's having trouble communicating with the SIM module. I'm suspecting the seat belts clips are causing the issue. Could anyone confirm or deny my suspicion.

Thanks for any help you could give.

My suspicion would be that your seat came unplugged, for starters.

Reasoning: unplugging your seats electrical harness while the car has power (read: battery not disconnected) will trip the airbag light. Add to that the lack of communication about the seat belt light, and I'd hope it's an easy fix! Well, the seat belt light maybe, you need to reset the airbag light and if you can't with the software you have, then it's a dealer visit or special device.

Did you resolve this? Mine is suddenly doing the same thing (including not being able to communicate with the SIM).

BMW is honoring a 10 year warranty on that issue through your local dealer.
I had my passenger seat mat replaced free of charge last year
Hopefully your car was built Aug-Dec 04

Nice man! My car is built during this time, but its a 2.5i Z4. Do you where I can find the actual recall posting for this?

Just drop in to the nearest dealer and tell them you have a defective passenger seat occupancy mat that you want replaced under warranty.
They will call BMW Canada and confirm if you are eligible

I did not have a recall notice for mine I just happened to find out about it on the web while searching for problems associated with air bag light and the air bag off light on the console
