P/N 51248137994 are the 23N*
P/N 51248187291 are the 34N*

I went to my local dealer to view each part.... seems they need to special order these for me to even view which ones I should get. I even explained exactly what I was trying to accomplish to the parts guy.

The guy said he had no idea...he could order the parts based on the numbers I gave him but couldn't promise I'd actually get what I wanted cause it wasn't verified by a BMW Tech. And to top it off, he wanted an up front cost for the special order with $25.00 shipping charge....and a 50% re-stocking fee IF I don't want to keep either set.

Sheesh...I sure wish I had a decent stealer to chat/deal with.

In the end...I'll order online and not give these guys one Canadian nickel.
Our dealers/service/parts etc down here are just as helpful..errr..helpless.
ECS has pics on their site of these ejectors.

Thanks for the pictures...however....it still shows me two different parts numbers. From the pictures...they look identical. The original thread photos show them different in size.

What I want answered is which one do I buy to allow for the truck to pop more. I'd buy two of each and just take a gamble...but someone must be able to let me know what ones NOT to buy.

Is it:

P/N 51248137994 are the 23N*

or

P/N 51248187291 are the 34N*

Garage List
2008 Z4M Coupe  [10.00]
2018 Audi S3  [0.00]
2004 X5  [8.50]
The length (height) of both are the same. The 34N* is the more "powerful" of the two if you want more "pop", due to the stiffer spring rate used. Note that the 34N* may be more prone to breakage due to the stiffer spring rate. If it breaks, the end cap and spring may end up rattling inside your trunk's sheet metal...one of the reason I decided not to do this mod after seeing how my front ejector failed (an engineer's pessimist point of view )

23 Nm and 34 Nm

http://www.onlineconversion.com/torque.htm

23Nm = 16.96 pound foot

34Nm = 25.08 pound foot

To lift the Z4 M coupe lid is 11 pounds.

Two 23Nm works with my car.

I tried to adjust the gap on the Coupe's hatch when it closes by turning the stops in the rear but they are both (left and right side) bottomed out as far as they will go. Perhaps if I pull them out and dremel more grooves/thread into the stop so I can spin it down further? The top stop ( the stop on the hatch itself) looks like it is not adjustable; just a solid piece of rubber material.

Ron, as always you come up with answer.

Question....would not the coupe lid be much heavier than the roadster trunk lid? Or am I missing something?

Excellent....I will check and see if I can source a set from another Canadian BMW dealer.

Had the same thing happen on my Z4MR.
So far, so good on the coupe.

good info on the different spring ratings in here.

At least with the coupe we have the Roundel to use as a handle.

The Z4M has a special trunk/hatch?

Also I don't think the weight listed for the Coupe hatch includes the glass.

Correct. I did the trunk lids.

Glass is 16.57 lb $400.15 retail

I lifted my coupe lid at 11 lb.

I don't have a roadster to do the lift.
Maybe someone will.
