07 M coupe purchase

Hi guys,

looking to get into one of my favortie vehicles ever.

anywho, theres a local dealership here in socal with an 07 coupe for sale. its been punched already, but has <100mi. i believe sticker is just under 57k and i know they can be had for much lower.

can anyone point out what a good bargaining base would be? i've read stories here where one guy got his car for like 39k or something, maybe thats possible again? it is halfway thru 08 and this car has been sitting a while already, so who knows.

what should a good starting point be? i mean, i know the car has been sitting for a long time, always see it on the inventory, and have always seen it just sitting on the lot.

anyways, im looking forward to joining you guys soon! any help would be beneficial.
thanks

I dont know what the situation is in socal, but my dealer is offering 20-25%off sticker for all new, unsold 2007 models, and theres still ALOT of them left. So for a lightly used one I think high 30k to low 40k seems fair depending on the color/condition etc. btw, much respect to your AE86!

A few people on here have gotten punched '07 models for $13-14K off sticker. I'd start at $14 or $15K off sticker and see what you can work from there. Just bring in the numbers (trunk money $7,500 they got for punching it, what the original markup over invoice is, etc.)

He's right, good advice. Another way to look at it, is to offer them $7500 under invoice. Works out to ~$14,500 discount. I did that and they called me 2 days later and accepted. That was last year, so one year later you should be able to get it for less. Good luck!

I did a quick search and found this car. +'s are carbon leather trim, NAV and of course the Imola Red looks HOT. The miles on this car are very low and I don't think it has ever been sold. It is also very close to you in Riverside. I think you could easily get it for less than that.

Find what the invoice price is from edmunds, take 7500 off of that, and then decide how much the mileage and over a year sitting on the lot is worth to you to take off more.

Don't forget, BMW NA is giving $3,500 cash to dealer for all Z4M's so automatically you get that much off. May want to factor that into your offer

///Metak - What do you use to search for new vehicles? I've only seen the option to search for CPO's on bmwusa's website.

And they should. The car may be new but is has depreciated just due to the model year. There's an advantage to owning a new 07 with zero miles, but not as much as one might think (in terms of added value) as there's no expectation of usage that little in the course of ownership.

My 08 Z4 M Coupe completed build last Wednesday! I'm so stoked. Ended up being a late July build instead of early Aug. Now the long boat ride to the home of BMW and to me!
