dinan questions
Im thinking of picking up the High Flow Throttle Body upgrade and the Stage 3 Performance Engine Software. Ive got the RPI scoop, AFE intake and the Stebro exaust. I guess this may add a few horses to my baby, maybe 10? I figure the dyno #'s they use are not to the wheel numbers. Anyway, anyone have any experiences with Dinan? Or should i go with someone else? Price is looking like its gonna be about $1500 so not too bad right? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I say pass and move on. Get yourself some headers instead. More gains, lower cost.

I currently have the Dinan Ram Intake Duct, High Flow Intake, and the High Flow Throttle Body on an `04 3.0i with stock exhaust. I'm planning on getting the Stage 3 software in the near future. My butt dyno says "Oh, yeah!". The $1500 seems a bit high though. Are you including labor costs? I was able to find all of the parts new in the box at below retail by keeping my eyes open. I have installed all of the parts myself. Unfortunately, I can not install the software myself because of Dinan's policy, so I'll have to pay full price for that one.

I have the dinan intake and dinan exhaust myself, all of which I scored deals on ebay and they were brand new.
Some things it ain't that bad, some of it I can't justify the cost when there are cheaper and better alternatives on the market.

hmm yeah, the $1500 does not include labor costs either. Guess ill snoop on ebay for the throttle body and pick up the header. Any suggestions on brands? ive seen a lot on ebay, but they seem to be knock off's and im not sure on the quality and build.

I dunno if I'd buy engine parts on ebay...that's just me.
Dinan has a reputation for high quality parts, even if their pricing is high.

My headers are SuperSprint. A little less than 1500, but a lot more hp gain then what a throttle body would give you.
