as mentioned, I think main worry for me is will it be very cold inside, how the mechanisms will handle it, etc. Not that i plan to open the roof in minus 20C but still... i'd like to know it will open fine come spring.
As for ground clearance I'll do what few of my friends with sports car do - buy slightly higher sidewall winter tyres, i.e. for 17in, instead of regulare 225-45-17, will go for 225/55/17... I think this helps just tad more clearance and so will help in those winters. Plus extra comfort, etc.

Anyway, I would feel better in the snow with my Zed than with any other sporty car, it has really good traction control.

Def. not asain. But I tend to get treated differently when my skin is dark vs light. People are still too racist.

I am tossing these seats in favour of cloth buckets. Anyone want to buy my stock seats?

Back on topic...I had summers on my M Coupe last winter, and even though I didn't drive it often in the snow, the one time I did, and pushed it, it was very predictable, and a hell of a lot of fun.

While I've had my Z for only a few months, its never seen snow, being a Texas car, and I'd like to keep it that way. While I'm sure that wonderful DTC and STC would work remarkibly well: Its great having a 100% rust free car thats easy to work on, since there is no corrision.
Besides, what I've learnt from being a detailer when I was in my teens: I can honestly atess for how vicious salt and freezing temps(& thawing) are for a convertible top. They are just the anti-Christ if you want the top to look great. Without a removable hardtop, FORGET IT. You can always tell the people that drive their convertibles in the winter, as the canvas/cloth is weak/soft to the touch, tears easily (and usually does tear) as well as it becomes discolored, all starting in about 4-6 years. It progresses downhill from there. |
