Wheel bearing update...

So as some of you know, I had my M in the shop for rear wheel bearing replacement.. I received a phone all that all my rubber bushes need replacing including the diff holder. Fair call I would say as they are the original ones in there. So now just waiting for a parts and labour price list. I will do the front bearings at the same time as they will have the car apart anyways for the bushes. Coments? Anything I should be getting them to check?

Replacing with poly? I just did all of mine, including the subframe (diff carrier) with poly. I did the struts at the same time ~42k miles. Anything over 40k miles on the struts is borrowed time if they are stock IMO. That plus alignment (-2.0 zero toe front; -1.7 1/4" total toe rear) = bliss. The difference is marked--like a new car.

Intgr8r has a thread on this IIRC, but these are the ones that fit the front. http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetai...od=SF095-2558K

Not sure yet, still waiting for the quote to come in. What are the positives for poly vs oem Finn? Also anything else I should address while they got the car apart?

I would stick with OEM for most parts, unless he needs Poly. It's a slippery slope.

Pluses? Stiffer, less flex, geometry stays more in line under stress. Supposedly more NVH. But I haven't experienced that.

Ok, wow what a day....
So first quote I received, I nearly had a hear attack... But after a while I came to terms with what needed to be done for the car not only be back to factory spec, but above all, to be safe.

So after much backwards and forwards the job list is now complete.

All bushes underneath being replaced. Whole sub frame rebuilt. Whole diff carrier rebuilt and refurbed.
All wheel bearings being replaced, front and back.
New sway bar and bushes, front. New sway bar bushes rear. New sway bar end links.
1 wheel alignment. Diff rebuilt and flange refurbed.

I also had a little oil leak from the sump pan, so also getting that seal redone.

There are also a few other little jobs being done. So really the whole underside of the car should be like new.

Total cost .. Well it's gonna be a lot...

Anything I've missed guys? Oh and sticking everything with oem.

Rear subframe bushings (front)
Rear subframe bushings (rear)
Front differential bushing
Rear differential housing
Front differential flange
Rear camber arms
Rear trailing arms bushings
Rear wheel bearings
Front wheel bearins
Engine oil pan gasket
Engine valve cover gasket
Spark plugs profile gasket (if needed)
Front swaybar endlinks
LSD differential oil (1 box)

And turns into this...

Rear subframe refurbishment
Front wheel bearings replacement
Engine oil pan gasket repalcement
Front differential flange replacement
Alignment

So that should sort out pretty much the whole car..
Fingers crossed
