SCCA/NASA Roll Bar

Is it feasible to remove the plastic covering on the OEM roll hoops, and weld a bar between the two hoops, to satisfy SCCA/NASA roll bar requirements for a Z4 Roadster?

In short no . You would need to do what I did and have a custom half cage done .

I didn't think so. Do you have a thread or pics of your setup?

Not sure what class you intend to run with NASA, but HPDE and time trials will accept the factory rollover protection, if that's good enough for you.

Several local chapters including BMWCCA will not allow factory hoops on-track unfortunately.

Obviously, you're safer with a cage, but I doubt that BMWCCA would let you run with an added single bar. I've run with NASA at Mid-Ohio and Road America.
