How tall of a tire do I need? + 245 vs 255 on 9.5?

I'm about to order some tires. I notice that some people run a taller tire in the front vs the rear. I was about to order a 255 35 18 Fronts and 265 35 18 rear, but should I get 255 40 18 for the front?

I'm lowered pretty low on ast 4100 with vorshlag camber plates. I haven't gotten the alignment yet. But I wanted to pull the trigger and was more worried about 255 fitting up front that I didn't pay attention to the middle number. Please advice.

Wheels:18x9.5 et 35f, 18x10 et 25r

Probably 35 front and rear based on the options you provided.

89.25 and 102 vs 92.7 rear.

i've been searching for the last hour and was thinking of the taller up front. What makes you think the 35 on both front and rear is better? Do you think a 245 40 18 on a 9.5 inch rim is too stretched? Appreciate the help!

I'm trying to solve 2 issues.

1. the height of the tire
2. the width of the tire for up front 255 vs 245

The rear and the front will be evenly stretched on the wheel.

10" rear minus 9.5" front is 0.5" or 12.7mm
The difference between a 265 and 255 is 10mm.

I would run the front and rear at the most similar heights or it will look funny. You could go wider on both front and rear: 265 front and 275 rear.

But the 255/35-18 in the front with a 265/35-18 in the rear will be the best option. The front tire will only be 3mm smaller on the sidewall. You won't notice. The 40 sidewall will be 12.75 mm taller, nearly 0.5". Very noticeable.

The 35 and 40 is a percentage of the tire width for reference.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm using a linear spring and apex suggested I won't need a 5mm spacer to run a 255 with about -3 camber. The problem is the fender and not the strut clearance. People that run a spacer may not have linear springs. Do you guys agree?

Some run spacers and some dont for different reasons. I believe that everyone runs linear springs on the front of the z4.

im maxed to the lowest setting in the rear and pretty low up front. I have about a finger width from tire to fender in rear. Here is a pic to show height. At this height you think i'll have any trouble with the 255f/265r setup?

Sorry reddot but you are getting into specifics that you wont know until it is installed. Any time you push the envelope, it is very part specific: tires, struts, springs, camber plates etc. one brands 265 can sometimes be an inch less wide than anothers.

I cant help you anymore. Trial and error.
