The Bimmerworld CSL (200mm) Airbox is outsourced from a shop in Germany, last I heard. I have been told that the build quality of the carbon fiber isn't the greatest and there isn't internal reinforcements and bracing like the OE CSL or Evolve CF Airbox.

According to Bimmerworld's website, they list it at $3200, but that doesn't include the pricing of the IAT and necessary fittings. Last I heard, to get all the OE CSL fittings would cost an additional $300+.

So the Evolve CF Airbox overall may have higher carbon fiber quality, integration into the stock air duct/feed, internal CF reinforcements for improved integrity, and it includes all the fittings.

Overall, to this day, I still think that the Evolve CF Airbox is more affordable and higher quality. These are the reason why I chose their airbox over many others that are available on the market. Trust me, I did tons of research before making my decision. Coincidentally, my favorite tuners just so happen to produce their own CF Airbox when I was ready to take the plunge.

would there be any discount if we already have your evolve tune? I would be interested in some sort of group buy if the price was right. Looks beautiful!

what I mean is would we be able to update the tune and get a cheaper price on the airbox since we already paid for a tune from evolve. If that makes sense.

I see 4-6 folks that are interested. At least 3 from the Bay Area . maybe the makings of a group buy?

I'm down for this. I like the notion of NA, but also losing weight on the front end so i'm curious about the weight of this kit.

Must be dry carbon!! Just say no to glossy carbon :P

On my E46 M3, there was a very noticeable weight drop between the OE Airbox/Intake and my Evolve CF Airbox.

I have my weights recorded somewhere, but I'd have to dig for it. I assume it would be slightly different for the Z4M, but it can give a rough ball park figure. Insane how light this CF Airbox is....

I'd go for this in a heartbeat if not my my significant other. Suspension was hard enough to justify. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't give the go-ahead on this.

Sorry, totally forgot to reply back in this thread.

I didn't get a chance to weigh my Evolve CF Airbox, but another forum member weighed theirs. It weighed a whopping 4lbs for the CF Airbox and Snorkel....4lbs?!?!?! Dry Pre Preg CF FTW!

He weighed his friends E46 M3 stock Airbox and that was 8lbs. That DID NOT include the stock elbow, air filter housing, and front air feed ducting.
