06 Zsi Sport Mode ? CRuise ?

Well took the Z4 out for the first drive today since I purchased it and I have a couple of simple questions?

Can the sport mode be activated on the fly? Of must the motor be off and the key be in the number 2 position? I tried the button and all I get is a red light?

Next question, when using the cruise is there a icon on the dash? The cruise works but I do not see any icon on dash,

TIA,
Happy New Year

Your cruise is working like mine does. No icon on the dash. As for the Sport mode, the key must be in the number 2 position.

Mine is a manual transmission and will go into sport mode any time that the key is in position #2. The car can be running or not.

^-- -yup that's right. If the engine is running, sport can be turned on or off on the fly.

Enabling it should make the gas pedal response sharper, the steering force heavier (subtle) , and if an automatic, the shift points higher.

I doubt it affects steering feel but I could be wrong.

Slight increase in force required to turn steering wheel along with faster throttle response when activated with manual trans. Gas-can is correct.

Yes you can engage sport while driving without any harm at all. You are just telling the cars computer to use a different throttle response program - and in the case of an automatic- to also use different shift points.

In an automatic you will also engage sport mode when you move the shifter to the left.

Cheers!!
