Advice to enable iPhone...

All - what's the best iPhone enablement for music + possibly BT streaming in the Z4M? The car I purchased does have the PP, so BT is standard - I don't own any CD's anymore - just use my iPhone for music.

Unfortunately there is no A2DP on the Z even if you have bluetooth for the phone. I ran into this issue also. What I did for a while is use this A2DP adaptor:

http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Techno...eaming+adapter

And ran a short AUX cable from it to my AUX input. If you have a 2007 or newer you have a standard AUX otherwise you would have to install one also (that's what I did). My biggest gripe with it was the audio quality. It's not as good as when going straight AUX also with my setup you could see the cable which I did not like. I was planning to hide the adapter in the glove box and run the AUX behind the dash, but never ended up doing it (got a daily driver with A2DP).

There are also much more expensive kits you can buy to retrofit bluetooth that also have A2DP but they seem like more trouble than its worth to me.

I have a USA*Spec iPod adapter in both my Z4MC & ZHP. It works great in the ZHP, but that's an analog amp setup. In the Z4MC, it's a special DSP-compatible version, and it sounds like ass - sounds much more compressed and unnatural than it does in the ZHP.

I've resorted to MP3's on CDs in the Z4MC. At a decent bitrate (like 256k), it sounds fine.

I'd say there are different options depending on which features you want. From all my recent research (but no actual user experience yet), I'd say:

Basic wired connection - install simple aux input kit

Wired connection with charging & basic steering wheel control - Bavsound One

Add track display on radio. Ability to control music from iPhone or steering wheel - Bavsound Control II/audiovox media bridge

Better functionality & features than Bavsound, but lose ability to control music from iPhone (car takes over) - Intravee II (Lightning adapter required)

Bluetooth streaming - The Bavsound/Audiovox units offer bluetooth streaming, but the reviews are mixed about sound quality. I believe the best solution would be a total sound system rip/replace, using a bt capable aftermarket head.

After a lot of deliberation, I think I'm opting for the rip/replace. The Z4M sound system is so terrible I think this will get me where I want to be. The only downside is the look of the aftermarket unit.

Thanks all for the replies - I think I'll go with basic Aux input for now - I tried it yesterday (after taking ~5 minutes to find it - worked fine.

Audiovox/Mediabridge is what I'm using with my iPhone and it works just great. Gives me hands free phone while on BT.... BT audio streaming works just great and sound output via my 10 speaker Top HiFi system is fantastic... even at 110Km/hr ....as is phone reception with top down.

Gives you ability to have Sirius radio/ aux and USB input through device as well... while keeping cars original aux connection.

Thanks - I'll definitely look into Audiovox...
