***SOLD*** APEX ARC-8's 9.5/10.5 Brand New In Boxes

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
***SOLD***

Okay guys, one more set and hopefully the last set of wheels I will be selling for awhile.

Brand new never mounted. Only two wheels were taken out of the boxes to weigh and take photos. Everything has been boxed back up with all the original packaging and is ready to ship.

I purchased the APEX ARC-8’s to be an extra set of track dedicated wheels. I picked these up for the following reasons:
1. The wheel weights are comparable to lightweight forged wheels (I show a comparison in the photos of 9.5/10.5 TE37sl to the 9.5/10.5 ARC-8’s)
2. The wheels are VIA, JWL certified (more on what that means quoted from APEX below
3. The price is about 1/3 the cost of comparable wheels

Specs: This is a staggered set-up. Fronts are 18x9.5 et35 Rears are 18x10.5 et27

I am selling these because I decided to stay with a set of 18” TE37’s that I was going to pass up and I no longer have plans to keep an extra set of wheels.

The sale is for all four wheels. I just received them Thursday 8/11/2001 and I have included a photo of the invoice that show I paid $1300.00 plus shipping just a few days ago.
Price: $850.00 + shipping

Link to the APEX website: http://www.apexraceparts.com/Products_c_17.html

Weight Comparrison:
The photos of the TE37sl's were taken by WSTO using the same shipping scale I have and can be found in their wheel weight thread on this post: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...265756&page=10

The TE37sl's are 18x9.5 et 22 & 18x10.5 et20

Below is quoted from this link:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473674
“Certification: The race track has no wheel strength requirements, but the street does. Sadly the USA has very lenient/minimal regulations of wheel strength, unlike like Japan and Germany. APEX wheels are independently tested by the Vehicle Inspection Association of Japan (VIA) to the JWL standard. Wheels tested to the JWL standard require all wheels on the road to meet specific load rating requirements based on the bolt pattern, and dimensions of the wheel, the application/vehicle model has nothing to do with it. In comparison, wheels tested to the SAE standard in the USA can pick their own load rating, which can be as low as they want. This defeats the purpose of the test, as a wheel manufacturer can choose to underrate their wheels in order to reduce wheel weight. Wheels claiming JWL testing, but no 3rd party verification are prone to certifying untested/unproven wheels. VIA certification cannot be done in house. It requires sending wheels/tires to japan for crush testing. Sadly a large number of vendors claim their wheels are VIA, JWL and even TUV certified, when in fact they were never tested by those organizations at all, and in some cases don't even meet the standard requirements of those tests. For this reason the certificate numbers for the ARC-8 wheels have been listed below. Self regulate the market, and ask all vendors to back up their claims. If they were tested, then they'll have the registration numbers.

18x9.5” ET35: VIA15-0461
18x9.5” ET22: in testing
18x10” ET25: VIA15-0462
18x10.5” ET27: VIA15-1388”

Awesome deal here for someone.
If you're thinking about them, grab 'em quick or they'll be gone.

These look sweet. I have always been a fan of colored or black wheels. Just hate the plain jane silver look on any car.

GLWS!!!

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Car will not be lowered and hopefully the fender won't have to be rolled.

Really depends on tire manufacturer ride height, camber & caster settings. For the the fronts 235/40, 245/40, & 255/35 can be run. For the rears 265/35, 275/35 & with some light fender modification even 285/35 can be used.

At stock hieght, the only thing you should need to do is run a little bit of negative camber up front. How much negative camber will depend on the tire manufacturer. Some have more square sidewalls than others.

I was starting to think I was going to have to buy these if they weren't sold by the end of today, just because they're such a great deal!

Congrats on sale
