Shifter arrived. Can someone please confirm that I got everything? Install won't be until the spring.
Additionally, I noticed that the bearing sleeve on the shift arm isn't seated properly. Should I try to gently pry this up? Scared of damaging it. |

Yes & Yes; I pushed the rubber sleeves into position using closed needle nose pliers; kind of shabby attention to detail IMO.

Got mine installed 2 weeks ago. The first day it was rock solid awesomeness. But it has loosened quite a bit and just feels like OEM now. Anyone else experience this? I think I'll be damned if I take it in again and spend more money. Oh well.

That does sound strange.
Mine has been in for almost three weeks and it still does not feel even close to OEM. What I thought might have been a loosening up is most likely just me getting use to how it feels. |

I've had mine in for almost a month now, still feels exactly like new. It is a completely different feeling from OEM, even accounting for me getting used to it.

Mine's been in for a year, almost to date, and it's exactly the way it was the first time I drove it after the install. Unquestionably THE best mod for this car so far.

Finally finished installing the AS SSK. I added the M5 lighted shift knob and the RE neoprene tranny mounts. Install isn't too bad when you have no deadline. I could see spawn of satan when I removed the tranny brace. It made it easier to remove SOS. Putting the new SOS back on was harder but I figured it out. I LOVE the feel of the shifter. I also installed CSL headers and euro cats all at the same time but honestly I think I like the new shift feel more than the exhaust. My fav mod is still the KWV3. The SSK takes a respectable second place.

Hey, PM me if you get a sec, curious to hear your opinion on the exhaust - I have euro headers and am thinking about doing the same system - already have Arqray cans on it - since it would be identical, would be nice to get your opinion on it.

One option would be to try and organize a group buy ....I'm not sure when the last one was done. :edit: Oops I see this was the last GB thread

I probably won't be heading any more group buy's for the AS SSK anymore, since all my closer friends already have 'em now lol. But you could try to contact Ronald @ AutoSolutions if you want to try and host a GB. Not sure if he'll let anyone besides me do it though |

Oh ok. Thanks for the info! Any idea how the rogue engineer octane ssk compares to the autosolutions? I have that at the moment but haven't installed it yet, trying to see what other options I have :P my main concern is the fix of the second gear grinding

Fixing 2nd gear grinding issue takes a mix of tranny fluid swap, tranny mount upgrade, SSK upgrade, engine mount swap, or all of the above. |
