Left the Zed, not leaving the forum

Well after 4+ long years and some family (parental illness issues), I had to sell the M coupe. Sold to a local older gentlemen (so I can still see her). I picked up an '08 E90M3, one owner, 19k miles -

Alpinwiess/Schwatz

6MT
Tech pkg
Premium pkg
Cold weather pkg
Enhanced sound
PDC (rear)
Rear/side shades
HD radio (blah blah blah)
Sat (blah blah blah)
19" wheel option with new PS2s
4 oil changes have happened (he was anal like me)
Brake fluid annually

Really well maintained. Flawless condition in and out.

I'll have photos as soon as this shitty weather lets up.

Can't fit older folks in a low to ground two door sports car. E90 is a four door. And the ride is very forgiving too. (M3 is a great car, 4 door does it all.)

Sounds like a good find! Congratulations! I know the Z was hard to let go but I totally understand. When the weather is better drop by EuroSunday or let's grab some coffee. I'll trade you keys if you want for a bit of a drive--that S65

Good to hear you'll still hang out a bit here!

Sad to see your coupe go, but family definitely comes 1st.
The M3 definitely sounds like a great aquisition though

Both my parents can no longer drive for extended periods. My dad has battled with a heart condition on and off and my mom is a TERRIBLE driver ... they're both 70 and fly to Italy every 3 months and are planning to move there eventually. Having them drive to the SF airport in the 2 seater was impossible, yet I wanted to stay in the BMW ///M family. I was never a fan of the E36 sedan, but once driving the E90, it was a no brainer.

I don't plan on leaving the forum at all. I've worked on the E46M3 and the Z4M coupe, so if I can pass any knowledge, I'll stay. This is also a great community and that's difficult to come by on the "internet". I'll get pics soon, we've had some fugly weather.

You are very honorable, sir. I can honestly say I wouldn't do that for my parents. Surely there's another way. Taxi?

Nothing but here. Family first is always the right choice.

Thanks, man. Once they go more often, I'll be taking them only once per year.

From Sac to SFO the taxi is damn expensive, possibly $200 one way. I didn't want to leave the BMW family, this was a good option. Here's a iphone pic *warning: dirty

If you need 4 doors, that's the way to go!

Absolutely. You're right, the 4 doors was the answer, 5 series wasn't doing it, current turbo-whatever F30/E90 was't it either, I'm prejudiced against turbochargers unless they're in an oilburner.

Sorry to see you go. Excellent choice on the new car- that will be my top choice when its time to replace the Z4MC; in gray or black for me.

Good luck with the new car and family!
