z4 vs 330xi sound

hello everyone,

I am currently driving a 2006 330xi that has the Logic 7 premium sound, and looking to get into a 2007 z4 3.0si.....

Just wondering if anyone could give me a bit of info on what exactly the z4 has as far as sound, and the differences? thanks in advance

IMO its not the greatest compared to other BMW's I have the highest speced system with 10 speakers in total, and the 2 subs just let the system down.

I have no proof that this is the case... but I think the Z4's sound system was engineered and equalized to be played with the top down. It is very loud and is easy to hear about the wind noise. However, with the top up it is not the best... having said that it's not bad. I initially didn't like it but now (maybe cause I'm used to it) I really enjoy it. You can certainly notice the treble going up when the windows go up since the tweeters are near them.

So, the Z4 stereo will not compete with a coupe's system since it has to be engineered for two different acoustic environments (top up or down) and (once again, my guess is that) it was engineered for top down driving.

Nat as good as the Honda Civic with 8 speaker setup (Bose). I have the Premium Sound as well with 10 speakers. It is a disappointment if you are used to a serious sound system.
