Thanks to the plentiful and helpful posts on this forum regarding Michelin PSS tires, I decided to replace the aging Contis that came with my M. I've had the Hankook V12s on previous vehicles and noticed the traction problems during wet or less than ideal conditions. It'll be a nice change to have a top of the line set of shoes on my vehicle. The PSS might cost a bit more, but I'm sure I'll be happy with the decision.

When you get them...go somewhere and find the limit with the tire. You'll be impressed how much it will take to break traction away on a high performance tire.

I'm definitely looking forward to testing them out.

Is there a break-in period for them? I remember my Hankooks had a period of a couple hundred miles at first where they didn't grip well; some sort of storage compound I had to wear off, if I remember correctly.

Had Hankooks too. Cant get the SS's to even make a sound where the v12's would get loose. Great tire. Congratulations!

Took a couple of weeks to wear them in. They were squirrely at first but now stick like glue!

Hmm, sounds like a good excuse to have some fun when I get them.

Hundred miles are so to get the mold release off. Nothing big

I'm jealous. Do these tires fit larger than the hankooks?

Honestly don't know, I went with OEM size, so I'll see when they get fitted, which could be a while. I ordered them through the Army/Air Force Exchange Service (PX,) so it could be a couple of weeks before they arrive.

Edit: They shipped today.

Hard for me to say as the hankooks were on my 06. They are slightly taller than my old PS2's in the same size I believe. Had to go from a 15mm rear spacer to a 12.5 to keep from rubbing on fender well. Of course my old tires were worn down a bit. Could be a little more square also. Love em!

Got the tires mounted today, definitely a huge improvement over stock. Super sticky, very quiet, very smooth.

Great dual purpose tire! A lot of people run the Michelin PSS on our wheels!

That sounds akin to winning the lottery...

How did you manage to win all of that?
