Carver DSP Amp got wet... how screwed am I?
Hey Guys,
Last week a gallon of water I had on my trunk opened and all the water fell on the amp, now it's not working... Could there be any fix to it, or would I have to buy a new one? Thanks

At least I checked and didn't see any fuses blown, so hopefully it wasn't that bad.
Does anyone know which amps can I re-code to be able to use it on my car?

Try an x3 amp. Pretty sure its the same part number as the e85 - e86 amp. Def need to get it recorded tho. Its not a cheap amp. Hopefully someone can sell you a used one.

I gave up and am in phase two of my upgrade. Right now I have the AVX77 JVC headunit, and I am shopping for speakers.

Dies that mean that I can use a different amp (different part number, still from a z4) and get it recoded?

But if you get the same part number out of an x3, that matches the z4, then you can just recode that to the z4 and you are in great shape.

My wife has an E83... . . . ....and according to what I've read, one of the 2 model numbers for the amp we have in the e85/e86 (65129125751) is also used in the E83 and found this from the other Amp coding thread from MheavNC: Got my amp replaced with the updated part # 65129138102.. (replaced #65129125751) These amps work with E83/E85/E86 models with top hi fi systems.. Once the new amp is installed, it has to be coded to your car.. This tells the amp if you have navigation/non navigation and if it is for the X3 or Z4..
