Don't know anyone in your area, but dealer price is typically $2,000 - $2,500 and Indy pricing runs around $1,500.

My top motor has been getting slower the past year or so, I may be looking at replacing it. Tempted to try myself and relocate the motor to the trunk. My car is a garage queen so the only water is from a few rain events, and washing it - drains are clear.

The motor cost itself is about $600-800 depending on source, add to that 8 hours of labour (that can be the DIY part).

If there are any Londoners interested in giving this a go, I'd be happy to learn and help out with a replacement (reciprocal).

It's a doable DIY if you've got some mechanical skills. Motor plus the install parts kit is about $500 at FCP Euro, but I don't know how much tax, etc. you'd have to pay to get it to Canuck land.

hi ajd
Im in Hamilton also, 2003 2.5
If you decide to try to do it yourself, would volunteer to help. I would think its just a matter of time before I have to do it myself, although the top moves the same as it did five years ago when I bought the car

I'll keep my fingers crossed. You never can tell what we will face when the cars come out of storage. Mine is not due out until first weekend of May.

Maybe we should have a meet of all those who are paranoid about their top motor, probably be the biggest meet in the area.
