Michelin PSS ebay sale!

Just found this on another forum.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Tires-/66471...%20Michelin%20

Just saved $112 over Tireracks shipped price on 2 255/40r18! Sweet! You can save another $100 on a set of four.

I was waiting for Michelin rebates but this is even better and I believe you can still use manufacturer rebates(if available). Just needed fronts($418shipped).

Great deal. Too bad it's Discount Tire. I'd rather pay more elsewhere.

What? Are they owned by the French or something?

I had a really bad experience with their incompetence that caused quite a bit of grief for me last year.

Edit: And actually another forum member here who also lives in my area had a similar completely awful experience last week.

Oh, I gotcha. They won't be doing the mounting or anything. When I lived in WA I actually used them quite a bit for truck tires and never had a problem. I totally understand the bitter taste thing. They must be trying to undercut tirerack as they "usually" have the best prices, availibilty. Must also be something fairly recent with the low price or word would have got out

Still not as cheap as the ebay sale. 255/40r18 listed at $233....plus, I don't have to go to their store. $418 for 2 255/40r18 shipped to my door! Just sayin...Oh, maybe you missed the $100 off cupon? No sales tax?

Discount tire is a franchise…in other words, one store can be great and the next can be terrible. I have one 7 miles away from me that proved to be the epitome of incompetence back when I tried to use their services in 2008. I completely broke off my ties with them and went to a Discount Tire that is 25 miles away and it was a completely different experience - these folks do work for me in a way that no other shop has ever done, with a level of attention to detail and care unheard of. Needless to say that I'm a customer for life; even after they've replaced the staff (including management) probably 2-3 times by now at the location closest to me, I still go to the farther away location.

I'm glad you've found one that gives you the experience that every customer deserves. The 6-7 that I have either first or second hand experience with, as well as trying to deal with corporate after my incident has made it clear to me they want to slap tires on Camrys and Civics that belong to people who won't notice when the tires are mounted improperly and their vehicles are damaged in the process. Next time around I'm gonna go with a local race shop that caters more to the enthusiast.

I use a small local tire/wheel shop, sole proprietor, who takes very good care of my wheels, lets me bring my own tires and is a tirerack installer. $14 a tire for mounting and balancing. They know what a torque wrench is!

I just got my wheels powder coated and the owner has state of the art (dis)mounting machines. He charged me $15 a corner, and the machine doesn't even touch the face or lip of the wheel.

When it comes to special pricing and packages I deal with Discount Tire. But if I want to get the labor done regardless of what I pay for tires, I have them delivered at the powder coating center. These folks do everything by hand as well, no impact tools!

$14/corner is an amazing deal!

They are gorgeous looking tires…and on the meatier side, even if replacing with OEM sizes. I love how they fill the gap and look on the wheels!

My fronts came today, rears tomorrow. Puppy looked very interested in chewing on them. Tires went straight to garage closet. They look meatier than my front Pilot Sports. But could be deception
