I wouldn't mount that on a moving vehicle. I have one. It may not fall off, but it vibrates a lot

Any tips on mounting the camera inside the cockpit of a roadster?

I think i want to use one of the roll hoops...would the gorillapod work?
As a coupe guy, don't really know enough about the roadster to figure out where to firmly attach something in the cabin area. Windblocker brackets? Hard top attach fittings? Suction cup to the rear glass is certainly a possibility if the top is up (and you can avoid inflicting any damage on the defroster elements).

I'm not necessarily sure why, but absent any experience with the gorilla pod, I'd personally be more comfortable with a positive attachment (even a good solid suction cup mount) than just wrapping something like around whatever's handy.

If you're at an HPDE type event, you've got an instructor that's going to have to be comfortable with the installation as well...

Guess the next best thing is to zip-tie it to the windblocker mesh lol

Maybe I'll just put a bar between the roll hoops, then use a rail mount like so:

Hey Ship,

Did you end up getting the AipTech? If so, how did you decide to mount it for track days?

Sorry to say no. I have been too busy....

I have been working 12 hour days, seven days a week for the last two months. The end is near though. Three more weeks until I can take a breath and get some track time in....

BUMMER!!!! I hear ya - between my art business and tracking the car (oh yeah, and the Jack Russell), I haven't been in here much. Something always falls to the side... Thanks for answering my Q though. I think I'm leaning toward the AipTech since my main use for a video camera would be for tutorials and such.

I was in an accident recently. The other driver was at fault and drove away. Police report came out in my favor due to a witness.

With a dash cam, this whole ordeal would be much less stressful. So I hope to get some inputs for what you guys are using. I know the options listed here so far are towards track-use. I'd like something that I can make it an integral part of the car. Forget it's there until I need to retrieve the videos off of it.

This is what I'm considering at the moment:

Have been using this Lukas LK-7900 for almost a year, very happy with it. They have other models, too.
