Question: How much weight savings are there compared to stock exhaust?

Let's say the full race DKF components compared to stock US Z4M exhaust components?

The DKF SYSTEM RACE package weighs approximately
48.5 lbs. including. All hardware. I really don't know what a stock system weighs. Hope this helped.

Page 1 has weights for DKF, page 2 has approximate weights of the OEM system. Just the mufflers are 10 lbs each. X-Pipe is only 2-3 lbs. Not sure how much the stock cats weigh.

North American secondary cats are about 19lbs. Euro cats are about 22.5lbs. Just weighed both.

Basically this exhaust setup can be a nice weight saving project as well. Maybe fabricate a titanium version that can offer insane weight savings, now that would be some really interesting shit, for a race car that is.

So it breaks down to:

Race mufflers 9.6 each, sport 11.2 each: 19.2 - 22.4
OEM is 22 lbs each: 44
-24.8 to -21.6

X-Pipe weighs 11 lbs.
Stock weighs 15 lbs
- 4

s-pipe (9lbs) + 100 cell cats (7lbs): 16 lbs
stock US is 19 lbs
- 3

Adding that all together we get 28.6 to 31.8 lbs weight savings.

Might have to remove 2 lbs or so for the race clamps, as they're 0.4 lbs each. So 30 lbs might be a reasonably close estimate.

Yes sir you are correct. I think that is a reasonable calculation

Looking forward to seeing this all come together.
It'll be nice to have an option for section 1 with proper bungs rather than butchering the OE piece.

Thanks. We have worked hard to make this affordable and I believe we have the right vendor now Nd prices have really fallen. Hope to have first article off very soon. And test fit just to be sure. Will keep you posted.

Thank you. This has been a very long journey for us filled with many twists and turns. I would like to thank all the members who gave inspiration and supported us. This exhaust will happen and I think it will be worth waiting for. I spoke with the vendor yesterday. He is still on track for the production. Which means the sec1 kit first arrival off should be coming soon. Then after the test fit is completed the G/B will start. Again I would like to thank the forum members who have supported DKF and I hope will continue to support us. We have not sacrificed quality to bring the system to you. We think you will be as excited about the new pricing as we are to bring it to you. We will keep you posted and once again thank you for your support.

^ I agree.
Most other vendors would have tucked their tail between their legs & never to be seen again.

The way DKF responded with their hangars & the way they are hanging in with the exhaust development speaks volumes to the people behind the name.

I'll be on the list for a system when they git'er dun

I spoke to DKF. He is right now developing the S pipe with 100 count cats, resonators, o2 bungs and EGT bung. The price is significantly lower than originally quoted. I asked him if he could do a kit with the 300 count cats because I want to run OEM software without a SES, and I'm afraid lowering the count to 100 will set it off. He told me that if we can get enough people intereted in 300 count, we can do a group buy, but we'd have to put 1/2 of the $ up first so he can get the cats.

He asked me to put this up for a group buy. He wants to know who is interested in the 100 count system and who is in for the 300 count system. I'm in for the 300 cat.
