so.... on the m3forum the Vt2-500 is making some pretty nice gains.....
It seems running catless/ 100 cell race cats, Re-tune is giving some pretty heavy power gains...
This is on a car with nearly 90k miles!!!!! No meth either......
heres the details copied straight over.... it shows me.... i need catless and now!!! Also Evolve are clearly taking the tune to the next level, id love to know how far its being pushed and how the safety margins look, either way, Take a look at this bad boi!!!

Euro headers/cats dyno was on September 13th, 2012: 440 rwhp, 304 lb/ft tq SAE.
SS V1 stepped / HJS cats dyno was on December 4th, 2012: 464 rwhp, 314 lb/ft tq SAE.

Same dyno, same dyno operator, same gear (4th), same tune, same fuel (91 U.S. piss with the highly coveted 10% ethanol mix).
A nice difference from the improved VE with the Supersprint setup!
Sending the info to Sal to maybe richen it up a bit in the upper RPM range.
So far (600 miles with the V1/HJS), no codes, no CEL.
Car runs perfectly; a treat to drive every time.

Downstream from the headers/cats is Supersprint X-pipe with resonator, and the SS Street muffler.
Upstream is a K&N RU-3130 air filter attached to a silicone hose with a 30 degree angle at the end.
This makes for an excellent fit over the top of a stock brake duct and in front of the wheel well cover.
No part of the filter is directly exposed to the elements, or blocking any airflow through the brake duct.

Big thanks to Alex (flipm3) for putting together the graph layout below.
I'll eventually get there, but wanted to post this sometime before the next century.

Salman is a freak when it comes to tuning. he can really do magic.
I'll probably have him tune my ESS VT2-500 in the future if he doesn't ask for a lot of money.

What salman does exactly is adjust the timing and ignition of the engine to increase the dynamic compression inside the cylinder. What happens exactly is that he reduces the time where both intake and exhaust are open at the same time and the air is hovering by over the cylinder to a minimum. This produces more power as well as let's the engine breathe better and be efficient without getting into the knock limits.

He also uses better methods that are optimized as well as some other stuff he refused to share with me, but I do trust his tuning especially after I have discussed his methods with him and I have seen how my car behaves with his tune.

It's just that much better to drive, you can feel the engine behaving at its best.

Can't wait to see. If g-power torque gains are confirmed it'll be the best low PSI kit on the market.

I believe I will be... at least the first on Zpost. My build date is scheduled as soon as I return from overseas - the first week in April.

HJS cats are the best cats money can buy. They're expensive, but I don't want to leave my car too illegal or deal with the rasp from a catless exhaust. Supersprint uses them in their catted section 1's.

Me too! However, the SS V1 stepped headers are focused on high rpm power, so that may skew the results a bit. There would be a few hp difference in the midrange between the SS V1 stepped vs the SS standard headers (or AA/Euro/other aftermarket headers).

yeah i spoke to supersprint this morning.... wow.... those HJS cats are insane!!! seriously high end items right their..... their 100 cell cats are pretty awesome, i very nearly purchases them..... if the dkf option doesnt happen soon, im going to jump on these!! im hoping they wont introduce lots of rasp into the setup!!??

i was also told they would need to be hot for the car to pass emission tests.....

I didnt understand why these pipes were so expensive... Now i understand.....

I'm gonna use Aero Turbine mufflers in place of my section 1 cats, should flow better than expensive 100 cell cats, and reduce rasp

Check out Custom Performance at http://www.custom-performance.net/pr...rt/pc/home.asp

I'd been talking with Jack about getting a custom section 1 using the Supersprint connecting pipe with HJS welded in, or a fully custom pipe for a little less. The SS pipe with HJS cats welded in by Custom Performance will cost ~$1k less than the catted section 1 from Supersprint.

It's still expensive, but better than a fine. I haven't been pulled over in about 5 years, but all it takes is one time with an observant cop smelling the vapors... Plus I want to remain somewhat emissions legal if I can. Cats do a better job of masking rasp than aeroturbines.

What kind of mufflers do S54 "rasp pipes" use?
