Converted my power top to factory manual top. Now my keyless entry doesn't work?
Hey everyone. I replaced my power automatic top in my 08 Z4M with a nice manual top from an older 2004 Z4. Everything went smoothly with the install and the new manual top has already won me over with its simplicity. Just a simple twist on the handle. I even installed the locking mechanism. No more worries about fixing the expensive parts in the power top ever again!
However, my keyless entry refuses to work after the install! I have tried reprogramming the key with no luck and a battery reset doesn't seem to do the job either. I am thinking I need to completely unplug the CVM module from the car. What will happen if I do this? Could this be causing my keyless entry to malfunction? What coding would I need to do for the car to ignore all convertible top operations? (I have all the BMW software tools needed, INPA, NCS, Progman etc) |

Wish I had some input to share with you on this, but I haven't done the conversion myself so no expertise. A fellow by the name of Zack Haas has done it. He's pretty resourceful and might have solved this. He's not on the forums, but you can find him on Facebook.
