ECS, not excepting payment, cept by wire transfer
Wth? I just made an order with ecs tuning in online and payed with my credit card, and then a day later I get an email from them saying they are not excepting my payment and they need a wire transfer for the funds before they will proceed with the order.
I used my visa card, and it even says in the email they will not except PayPal. That leaves me with zero security for the order.... Anyone come across this before? Sounds very dodgy to me? Is ecs trustworthy? I've ordered a lot of stuff on the net before and have never heard of this before? Actually that's not true, I ordered some cpu chips in China via wire transfer, and never saw the chips or my money again. Very strange....

Maybe because you're international? Did you try giving them a call?

I've had the same issue with other vendors due to shipping address not matching my credit card address. That a possibility? When it happened to me I just went with another vendor.

ECS is a trustworthy vendor. It does sound fishy. Due to a possible discrepancy, maybe they're having you go that route to avoid possible fraud in case they think you're someone else and not "Vanne". I would say call them and find out. Curiosity is killing me but what are you buying your M?

It's because you're out of the country. The fraud rate for CC transactions shipping outside the USA is astronomical. They're just trying to protect themselves - no doubt from having been burned in the past.

I just made an order from Canada to be delivered to Canada with no issues and paid by credit card. It could be that your CC address and shipping address are not the same?

Bimmerworld did that to me too when I bought my Epic tune from them. They only accepted wire transfer because I was from Canada.

yeah, Sean, mate to be honest, i can't be shagged doing that, its a hassle for the other person in the states who then has to post it onwards. if it comes to that, ill bite the bullet and just pay the extra 100 that turner is charging.. too bloody hard mate ;-)
pretty strange actually, haven't heard sh@t from them for 5 days.. that is unprofessional in itself, granted, the weekend was in there, but come on...

Vanne,
The wire transfer to your area is due to a fraud protection practice, sorry it's a bit of an inconvenience at times. You have a PM from me so I can get a little info on you and your order. -James |

I can vouch for James from ECSTuning. He's been very helpful all the times I've dealt with them. Vanne, I bet it's in an inconvenience, I hope it's worth the wait

I wouldn't order anything with a wire transfer, good choice Vanne. All it should take is a phone call from you to them for them to give you the credit card option.

Thanks guys, James indeed is a standup guy (he actually helped me out sourcing a water pump for my(then) Z3 a few years ago, but i bet he doesn't remember that , no worries there. In the end ECS and i couldn't agree on the payment method, thats fine. no worries there, so i took my business else where. No problems.
Thanks for sticking up for me guys, much appreciated.
