when i was first searching for a coupe, silver wasnt my first choice either. i kinda wanted imola. but when i saw silver with imola interior, the package looked very appealing to me. after the mods i have done, i wouldnt want any other color! thanks for the compliment

dubsesd -- I know your pictures are always top-notch, but what do you use on your car? I see a lot of silver cars on this forum, but they do not seem to have the shine and reflections coming off theirs as you do. I thought there wasn't any way to get the shine on a silver car the same as on a black one or a red one, but obviously, it seems you do. Would you care to share some detailing secrets? Kudos to you on a magnificent coupe and your photos.

thanks. it took me 22 hours to get the paint this way after i bought it. used polishing compounds and moved my way from aggressive to less aggresive with 3 steps. then i used 2 different waxes followed by a glaze and sealer. now i just maintain and keep it clean. i use a detailer after i wash and shammy with 50/50 solution detailer and warm water.

here are some of the products i like to use.

-chemical guys paint correction 1,2 and 3 step
-meguires ultra finishing compund
-meguires speed glaze
-menzerna sealing wax
-pinnacle souveran liquid wax
-pinnacle souveran paste wax
-meguires ultimate detailer
-mequires hot shine foam tire dressing
-poorboys trim restore

I ordered this diffuser, and my body shop is having a couple of problems. For some reason, when they hold it up about the same distance from the rear that you have it, it hits the mufflers. Did you have to trim the back at all to make it fit?

The body shop is also telling me that they have to drill holes in the bumper cover to attach it. I want this to be totally reversible with only holes under the car where they can't be seen, should I decide to remove the diffuser later. How is yours attached at the rear trailing edge?

Please tell me your experience regarding these 2 issues....the car is in the shop now, so hopefully you can let me know when you get a sec.

Thanks!

He has aftermarket mufflers, which are very likely MUCH smaller and don't protrude down as much. I'd think you have to trim it for the stock mufflers.

Looking at the pic, it looks like its held up by about 4 screws the are drilled into the bottom of the bumper. I'm sure those holes would be hard to see unless you're on the ground looking for them. You could also theoretically mount this with the red 3m double sided mounting tape.

you can install this yourself in 5 minutes, dont pay someone to do it for you!! i used 2 existing holes in the bumper and made 2 holes in the black plastic undertray. you can always trim it

Not meaning to hijack this thread.....however this basic design is not too far off from the version I had been working on for the spare rear M cover I have in the shop. The main difference being mine has the rakes coming on up to the shelf edge of the rear M bar-(nearest the mesh) so it has no visual start/stop point or joint and goes all the way under the car to the diff. bolts.

Any interest in me pushing this through ?

If so....I'll finish up the mock-up and post it up.
