Question Euro Front bumper swap? DIRECT swap or not so much?

Searched but results weren't fruitful.

Long story short, my cpo'd car showed up with minor front bumper damage. Dealer owes me a check for new front bumper. I'm willing to pay out of pocket for any cost difference of a euro front bumper, but need to know FOR SURE that it will be a direct swap and no fitment issues with mounting points, etc.

Anybody have FIRST HAND experience with this? I don't want to hear that your uncle's baby's dog sitter's sister had it done at xyz's shop back in the day... you get the idea.

All this with the assumption I can possibly through some connections get around getting a euro part shipped here from a euro dealer.

Thanks.

No reflectors on euro bumpers (both front and back).

Yup, that's the main difference. Now trying to find out if anybody knows first hand if there are any subtle differences esp regarding fitment.

Might want to ask a body shop what they would charge to fill in the reflector holes and paint. A few people have done this will good results.

No differences on fitment.
IIRC someone else looked into this and found it prohibitively expensive.

It's easier to just get them filled and the bumper repainted.
That's my plan including the headlight washers delete.

Got a name of the person? I would rather have the real deal bumper rather than get them filled in. Local certified bmw repair/body shop isn't too keen on the idea of filling them in.

shouldn't be that pricey. I think my new front bumper cost AUD$890 and this is Australia where all bmw parts are about 3-5x higher than the US.

I did it on my e46 m3, it was only about $100 more expensive then the stock ugly US spec one.

Im going to do it in the future, I hate the reflectors.

I was under the impression that BMW had put a block on all Euro parts ordered from the US, per some post I saw here. Mike, let me know how it works out. I'll be seriously kicking myself if that's not the case, because I was charged 4 hours of labor which was certainly more than $100. FWIW, the body shop did a nice job -- I think they said they cut a piece of plastic to patch up the hole on the back side, and then filled it in to be flush with the rest of the bumper. It's completely seamless as far as I could tell, but I've yet to mount it on the car and take a look in daylight. I'll try to take a picture of it front/back when I get home.

Does the euro still have the HL washers?

If that's the case it doesn't help me anyway.
