Forum members, As some of you know I am in Germany for the next year. Hamburg is loaded with amazing cars. Photos attached of a Frozen Gray M6 in the Hamburg airport

I personally love the M6 as well as matte finishes (on some vehicles). I would love to own that car someday!

Actually, not to sound stupid but is there a distinctive difference between a Matt paint job and this?

This seems to be a bit more shinier than most other matt cars I've seen.

No window sticker on the car. Lighting was certainly optimized...car was Matte

Maybe I'll be wrong, but I think the matte colors are just a fad. I don't see the beauty in a car that looks spray painted.

There was a limited edition of US M3s in "Frozen Gray" at only a $10K premium over a similarly equipped normal M3. Supposedly the 30 cars sold out in 15 minutes. Sort of like Las Vegas - it doesn't take long to throw away lots of money. Those cars will probably be worth less than cars with popular colors in a few years.

The finish really appears more of a "satin" than matte IMO. I am comparing it to wall paint types. Satin has a moderate amount of shine.

Absolutely agree. You can see the light reflections and highlights in the photos, which would not appear with a matte finish. They might as well have called it "Satin Gray". After they get tired of putting it on cars, maybe they could license the color to Sherwin Williams.
