Question on OEM projector count...
I keep seeing certain cars with projectors for high beams (quad projectors? Not sure what to call them), and some with reflectors for high beams. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Are the all-projector versions OEM? I looked through RealOEM and haven't found any information on it. If it's OEM, would it be feasible to replace the high beam reflectors for projectors? Or would this call for a full replacement? I don't use my high beams much, but I just think they look better.
Also, that example I linked shows some angel eyes. I've found references to the existence of OEM angel eyes. Any way to retrofit those in if I don't have them? Or are aftermarket ones better? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Inner project is a dummy and doesn't light up, it only has week angle eye. Outer projector is bi-xenon, high and low beam in one projector.
You can't replace high beam reflector with a projector. Here's a facelift bi-xenon headlight with a dual angle eye mod I did. |

It depends on the model. On my '03, the inner lights are flash to pass or DRL's.

Yep, the inner ones are dummies. Now get this, on my 135i, the inners were dummies too....or so I thought! For some reason, and I only saw this picking up the car from a valet, one of the inner lights would be ON (not xenon like the main lights). I'd get in the car, drive away, and pull over to look at the light and it would be OFF. This happened quite often, so I know it wasn't a one time brain fart thing.
Never got clarification about wtf was going on with that 135i light, haha. |
