Probably you're right... Insteresting is that one interior has newer steering wheel and gauges with older transmition and without iDrive; and other interior has older steering wheel while it has newer trasmition - joystick and new iDrive which will debut in new BMW 7 (F01) and 3 face lift. Maybe its just a different test mule...

The photo from BimmerFile is a different mule and it is not necessarily older but the, joystick and iDrive are newer additions. The new iDrive controller has not been tested outside in the real world for all that long! Also, the trim pieces in the cars can vary up until final production, mules can be for interior items, tech, drive-train etc. BMW rarely puts everything in until final production is ready. Even with the 7, some have have things and others have other things. It is a cat and mouse game!

I hope that electrontic handbrake is optional, probably won't be.

Looking again at the rear end of this car, I wondered where the trunk (or bootlid as we say in the UK

) actually opens. I am wondering whether a larger section opens when the roof gets folded (the part shown by the yellow line), but a smaller section opens for gaining access to the storage area compartment (red line). Any thoughts?

I think there is no red line but an optical illusion perpetrated by a deceptive car company (using those pesky white swirly things)

Yes, looking at it again, I think you are right. I am desperate to see this car properly without any camouflage . Hopefully it won't be too long before they show it off.
