Anyone w/ Black wheels on Silver Coupes?

Just bought a set of 4 OZ Ultraleggeras in matt black for my silver coupe. Was wondering if anyone had pics of similar setups out there. I think it'll go pretty well with my tinted windows and cf trunk lip. I saw Mr Pedals F-14s... anyone else out there?

Great rims. I too have a silver si coupe, and i just purchased 19" v701's in matte black. I should have them on by the end of the week. You'll love the look, especially with your tint.

I have pics of the dark gunmetal reps I had on my TiAg coupe but I don't know how to cut/paste on my iPhone. You'll have to take my word for it that dark wheels look really good/aggressive on Silver. I think you're going to be happy with your choice.

thanks, that looks awesome!

here's my ghetto attempt to see what my car would look like with tints, clear sides, and cf lip.

Get your rims yet dubbeddown? I just got mine installed today...and i freakin' love 'em!!!!!!!! You'll love the contrast with the titanium silver. Now i need to get some tints. I'm thinking 35 all around might look good? Is Llumar a good brand? Metallic or non?

Nope. I thought i was going to need to lower it after putting on the 19's, but once they were on they looked great. For some odd reasaon wheel gap always looks worse in pics.

actually reason i asked is b/c from the side shot the gap looked great! thanks for the pics... just waiting for the first nice weekend to slap these on, still sitting in the box.

have you ever thought about adding a pinstripe? i'm thinking a silver stripe would look good, nice constrast and all

I like the stealth look, so i wouldn't mess aroud with pinstripes. Your ultraleggeras will look awesome once you get them on. I just wish i could get away with 20% tint all around, but illinois doesn't allow it. I'd love to see a pic of your tint if you've got one.

i feel you, front tints are illegal in nj so i had to go with something light as to not attract any attention. on a dark or cloudy day the car appears tinted. on a bright sunny day, it appears a shade darker than oem so cops really don't notice. but more importantly it's still functional and blocks out the sun.

bright day

cloudy day

Dubbedown, are those OEM BBS 197 wheels in the bright day pic? If so, how was the mileage and ride comfort with those rims?

yes they are, mileaeg was comparable to the oem z4 wheels. only difference being it had a slightly more aggressive offset so they came closer to the fenders so that was a plus. i only rubbed on the fronts but thats b/c i was running 235s. had i stuck with 225s, clearance would've not been an issue. ride comfort is probably more a function of the tires so it was about the same.

end of day, i liked them alot but decided i just wanted something lighter. also, the mesh design looked good from a distance but not so great as you got closer. i think thats why most oem z4 wheels have a simple spoke pattern. as you get closer, the spokes just looked like there was too much going on. if the spokes were thinner like the csl's, it would've been much nicer.

Thanks for the response I'm planning to get a set of powdercoated 197s to replace my heavy ass 19s. I really like the mesh look and the fact that the 197s are made by BBS. I'm hoping to get better MPG and ride quality compared to my 19s.

good choice

dont get me wrong, i liked the mesh look but once i saw the csl's in person, i raelized they don't look nearly as good b/c the spokes are thicker. overall i still think its one of my favorite oem (non-m) wheels!
