Tear in interior trim of door!
So i noticed a tear on the interior door panel arm rest...here is a pic...
How can i fix/replace this. Do they sell just that piece (its this one...) Also how can this have happened. My car is always garage kept, never parked in the sun and all that rest there is my arm from time to time. Anyway thanks in advanced!

You can get arm rests from leather Z that would cover over that.

Seems to be rather random. Mine has not suffered this insult yet, but is like yours(rarely leaves the garage). It seems the materials on our cars are rather delicate(windshield frame surround and cowl, arm rests, seat backs).

Darn them passengers!! Anyway, I agree with inTgr8r. I have LeatherZ armrests on mine. But then I have a Dream Red interior and so are the armrests. I like them because they make it level with LeatherZ's center console. Might seem kinda weird adding black armrests over black though.

Look up one of the fibrenew folks in your area, they can fix that:

Do you have extended leather? I was actually going to remove my leatherz armrests but I'm scared something like this would happen. But I don't have extended leather so I think they're just plastic?

All based on type of damage. In your case, I'd say an actual adhesion repair of the cut, followed by section colour matching. Check out some of their work on the website, they manage much more substantial damage then the one you have.

My driver's side door is doing the same thing. I'll have to look into repair. I didn't know it was possible for the door plastic. Figured replacement was the only option.

Just had the local Fibrenew guy "fix" my door. He said that the vinyl was pretty delicate and couldn't heat it enough for the texure to take. He did end up filling the holes and putting gauze in to reinforce the area. Also had my seat bolster done.
Here's some before pics... My seat bolster Here is the after(math)... and the seat.. it turned out good. Looks like a LeatherZ armrest or a different door card are in my future. |
