Beedub, there was a group buy on the UK forum a while back for these from a company on the continent I believe.

I'm curious - what do the pieces bring you? Does it cut down on wind noise quite a bit? I would like the look but I know I would hit the 'roof up' button without thinking and pop them out which I assume would damage them.

Ouch!
It's all about the look - but still intriguing! Does everyone leave their top down all the time?

Not here. Too dusty.
I briefly thought this would be cool. Nice clean look, but too much trouble. What happens when you forget to remove them and put the top up?

I use them when I'm going on a long drive to keep dust out of the top compartment (like 3+ hours) or if I'm parking the car at show or meet. Otherwise I don't bother to put them on.
That being said, I feel like I made a great buy because I know there are people always looking for them. I bought mine on craigslist with a collection of other Z4 stuff from someone who had sold their Z4. |

I agree with jdoublehcubed...it is functional in the sense it keeps dust out, but I like them because they complete the look of the car when the top is down.

they make the roof down look so much cleaner and in a car to plan to keep for a long time, already 7 years in btw, i think they would just complete things for me, the z4 looks so good with the roof down but those gaps at the sides annoy me, they also cut wind noise significantly as the air doesn't get trapped in said gaps....
anyone got a set they don't want in black i will take them, i get that a good amount of people just see these as a PITA.

Hey Beedub,
I found mine on the Forum Classified. A member was selling his roadster and was parting it out. Just keep checking the classifieds as often as you can and they pop up every once in a while. Good luck hunting! |
