Can I Remove Strut Pins and Not Re-Align?

Assuming both control arms are in good shape and my starting point has symmetrical camber... if I pull the pins out and max out camber, can I drive along as is? I ultimately plan to get an alignment end of season but I wanted to see how it drove with just pins removed. This is for my 1-er FYI. Thanks!

Probably.

How's that for a noncommittal answer?

Assuming the alignment is dead on symmetrical, and all other suspension components are in good order, YES. But you're making a fair amount of assumptions. Good assumptions, therefore the chances result coming out aces are high, but you won't really know unless you actually pull the pins.

I'd mark all the pertinent parts (all the strut studs and their respective location on the strut tower) to ensure you can return to stock values first. Are the 1er pins screw on like earlier Z4s? Or are they the punch-out type like some E9X?

Punch out type I believe. Looking at the DIY, it states it's "grooved but not threaded".

IIRC, If you have the pins 'in' now and then pull to max the neg. camber,
you will toe out 1/8 to 3/16 more from your current toe setting

The pins or punch out.

You'll get some toe out when you pull camber out.
