I'm somewhat close to San Jose and can meet up for a cup of coffee when you're in the area.

I'm driving back Saturday... if that makes any difference.. probably around 11am.
Too bad - there are a bunch of great Z4M owners in the bay area...

Eric, it was great to meet you yesterday. Hopefully your drive home went well (and didn't involve any law enforcement)! And you were right, I'm missing the car already.

One of my buddies in the bay area spotted you leaving town...thought you'd enjoy the pics:

^^^ OMG that's both extremely funny and a little creepy . Yeah, that was me. A beautiful blonde in a maroon Z4 vert also made my day... after Cali it was just open road... not many people on the 97 North to WA... it was much more appealing than taking the I-5, and I ended up in Ellensburg, WA visiting friends by 11pm. Here's a few shots along the way...

I almost ran out of gas once... used up 13.59 gallons, so that's closer than I'd ever want to be when you're driving some of those back roads... luckily I was able to coast into Biggs, OR right before I crossed the Columbia River into WA State... There's nothing between Biggs and Madras in way of services. I didn't know that! I would highly recommend this drive.. just beautiful country!

Great pics, especially the 3rd and 4th! Glad she's gone to a good home.

This thread embodies about half of the reason why I purchased my Moupe. Just awesome all the way around from seller to buyer and all the emotion behind both sides.

True car guys will be the only one's to ever understand.

Yeah, not often you can buy a car sight unseen from a private buyer and sleep ok at night. This was one of the easiest transactions I've done... super class act. Not a bad way to break in a "new" car either, just put down close to 1000 miles. lol

Now I just have to get it registered this week among other things.... but it's back to work for now.

Wish I could say the same - I picked my roadster up about 6 weeks ago - also, purchased unseen - when I did get on-site to pick up the car, the rear tires were shot, despite the seller telling me they were about 50% down.
Anyway, I figure I will replace all tires, then after the papers were signed, cashiers check handed over, then the douche tells me 'oh by the way, there is a bubble on the right rear tire' and he offers me $50 compensation - needless to say I told him to keep his money!
I was forced to replace all 4 tires the next morning before embarking on my trip home.
This dude was never a BMW or car aficionado - he did 2k miles in 2 years with the car being in storage most of the time and all he cared about was saving a few bucks!

Yup that's why it pays to have a local forum member check out cars! ;-) But really, tires are cheap. I hope you end up enjoying the car!

Yup - I was going to replace the tires anyway - the car is awesome - just needed some TLC to bring it back to life - had a few door dings etc., but everything else was practically new.

Enjoy the M-Coupe - they are fantastic cars - IMO the best implementation of Chris Bangle's design influence.
