From what I know the E46 3-Series e-brake is a different shape then the Z4 one. I believe the Z4 one is slightly shorter. Whether or not it will fit I'm not sure, your best bet would be to pull off the boot, pull off the handle and give it a shot. It should fit snug whether or not it is shorter since if the Z4 one is shorter the longer E46 one should fit as well.

Like bimmer zealot said, all you gotta do is pull the boot off and then the handle. I provided the pictures so you can see how the boot is clipped in there.

a little trial-and-error should do the trick.

OK i finnaly did the install. For anyone who is interested, what you do to remove the e-brake cover portion, #7 in the diagram, usa a flat head screw driver and wedge it inbetween and it comes right out. The ebrake looks great, and a hint* you hide the extra leather on the underside of the handle. Ill post pics later.

Im trying to install UUC handbrake replacement.
I got the handle off but the boot is attached. I guess I will use your screwdriver idea, but the square opening seems like will not look very nice since it needs to go flush with the handle. On the OEM handle the leather is wrapped on the outside of the square handle. |
