Z4MC 104k miles and...

I am getting ready to replace the stock rod bearings with the beemer world treated ones. I have had the car sine 25k miles and do regular maintness and oil changes but so far I have not had any rod issues. I drive the heck out of my car but I do not abuse it, I have no track or autocross days on it. we shall see with pics soon!

Interesting...

89k miles here, and a LOT of track time. Be interested to see what state your originals are in when you pull them out

I pulled mine with only 60 k and 5k track miles with 0 symptoms and they looked like this .....
Get a blackstone oil analysis ,if you're lead is elevated at all replace them period . Honestly they WILL look bad if you have sig track time . The rod bearings on this car are a disposable wear and tear item , like rotors and are its engines only weakness . I also switched to Motul 300V competition 15/50 because of its much superior additive package and oil stability at high temps . The oil literally doesn't blacken even after multiple track days seeing 240 degree oil temps and has a TON of Moly which prevents wear if an oil does break down at a bearing surface . I'll post up my next oil change with the new oil and my treated bearings .

I agree. It's been on my radar along with other preventative items such as a complete bush refresh, all of which will probably happen at the end of this season. I won't get much usage out of the car next year as we'll be moving home throughout the summer so will be a good time to do some items like this.

My car was registered November 2006. Not sure what build date exactly, but it was one of the first UK M Coupes registered (ex original dealer-demo when I bought it).

What kind of all-in cost are you looking at in the UK to have this done by a specialist?
