Shrick Cams.. info only.

Hi guys, here is the panthlet i got in the box with my cams, thought it may be useful for some.

Apologies for the crappy scan.

Just for info only, YOMMV..

I did quite a lot of research into these cams and what the sweet spot would be. Pretty much depending on what cams you go for they are pretty much the same price. Pretty much all of the sites say that 288/280 is the sweet spot, as anything over this will require 3rd party timing/vanos removal, and or pistons..

Once more, this was my finding, please do your own research.

When are you doing the install! Are you doing it yourself? Make sure to get a pre and post dyno! Cams are rarely properly documented for our engines.

^whs. Would love to see some empirical data.

Vanne , after your research what are your expectations?

To be honest guys, i am not really sure..

As there are quite a few upgrades going on at the same time of the install, i am rather just hoping that everything goes well, really, thats what i am hoping for..

I know for a fact that this is the original non rebuilt vanos thats in my car, so getting this rebuilt should be a nice change in itself.

List of major and minor upgrades
--------------------------------------
Vanos _complete kit /non rattle/pumpdisc
Cams 288/280
UUC UDP
Leak down/compression test
additional Oil cooler for left Fang.
Major construction work for right fang air intake direct force feed into bottom part of CSL snorkel.

Temp sensor for water temp finally arrived for Z3M gauge stack.

--------------------------------------
All that is happening probably next week.. Depending on how long my roll cage guy is gonna have to work to finish of my bar and seat install..

Cali, not doing any of that stuff myself atm mate, zero downtime with the kids and EK has been very nice to me this month, i have 6 days off.. total..

All this during the fact that its very hot outside atm, the mercery floats anywhere between 42-46 degrees C, which is gonna be crap for dyno numbers..

But that said, Simon, from Simon motor-sports will be hopefully (if i and he can find the time) book in a pre and after session on their dyno.

The install is being done by Shak, at Octane.

So what am i expecting?, hopefully a running car

Randy from Epic sent me the new tune for the cam already a month ago, and says we may have to do some work on the idle.. So, there you have it, lots going on..
