Question Anybody else have "Disi valve" problems?

Hey guys. My battery ran dead, after that my Disi valve kicked the bucket (located on the throttle body/intake manifold). It basically helps regulate the throttle response, as my car idles very rough without it. Is there anybody else thats encountered this problem? A new one is $380 CAD (even though the part probably cost $.15 to make) No BMW wreckeryard either locally or online seems to have it in stock. Should I just bite the bullet? There is a little plastic piece thats broken on it. I dont know if its fixable or what but.... any ideas?
