370Z good or bad?
Just saw some video of edmund's test on the new 370z and they rather liked it very much and stated its better than a 135 lol. Personally i hate all Z they r cheap, rather ugly, fat, and slow and handles like a boat. Yet this new one seems like its gonna be a performance bargain despite the look which i still don't like too much. So wat do u guys think?

you know, the 350 z as much as I wanted to dislike it was a good looking car. nissan has just gone and thrown those looks out the door with the 370 z by giving it ugly lines, fat panels and even more ugly lights.....

The Nissan Z has been a performance bargain and continues to be one. They chose to design this car to be a sports car for the masses, and have done a good job. If it weren't so common out there I'd have one myself. |

I think it looks fun, just like a Mini, or an S2000....but I'd never buy one

cometics are all subjective. but when i saw the 370Z i was like holy crap that thing is ugly. i saw one on the road the other day and i sear to God, it looks like a baby GTR. i really like it now. car is crazy fast for the price. i would like to run one with my car. it will be a very close race.
FYI: the 370z comes with 19x10 in the rear with a 275 tire!!!! and they have problems hooking up. |

Hopefully they improved the interior (by looking at the pics it does look better, but in person may be a completely different story).
Here in Canada they may also wish to price the car competitively. When it starts at 30k USD and over $45k CAD, there is something seriously wrong with that. |

The 370Z is just Fugly Beautiful. It's nice to see that Nissan continues to approach or match the performance of more expensive cars. Regardless... competition is good for consumers.
I plan to test drive one for shits and giggles. |

Speaking of performance its not like the 350z weighs a ton its actually similiar weight as our cars but it doesn't drive and feel like a proper sports car. On the other hand the cheaper and less powerful rx8 feels like a true sports car. |

I don't know where you get "Slow,Ugly"Cheap"Handles like a boat" from but its the best bang for the buck if you'd like to call it that.. Compare it to the 3.0Si..More Horses.. More feel..Looks.. mm both very beautiful.. As for comparing it to the M well.. The nismo 350z is ALMOST quicker around the Track than an M " Best bang for the Buck"

The 350Z has very neutral handling and is quite controllable at the limit. Perhaps the "boat" description stems from the fact that the 350Z has a more open passenger compartment coupled with the fact that it isn't as lairy around corners vs. the Z4. But that use of "boat" is an exaggeration of galactic proportions.
It might have taken Nissan 7 years to get their Z package into the E46/E85/E86 M performance territory, but they are relishing it now. Good for them. And looking toward the future with the 370Z, BMW better be shitting their pants because they came out with their own update that's bigger and heavier than before. |

Datsun used to make some right good performance cars for their class back in the early 70's. I took my fare share of trophies home from the SCCA and Corvette club gymkhanas , auto cross to you young guys, with my 240Z back in those days. It's nice to see them making a come back. Their cars still aren't BMW's though.

In a different lifetime I had both a 280Z and 300ZX Turbo. Loved them both. Wanted one from the time I saw a 240Z when I was 17. I have often missed those cars because, similiar to my Z4, they were "personal" cars from the ground up. Back then, many called them a poor man's corvette.
Looking at the 370Z, I see a little of the old 240Z. Not crazy about the whole picture but I like it better than the 350Z. In fact, it's a close call between "fugly" and "interesting". Now, I'm sure many have said that about the first Z4s so don't put too much into that. I'm pretty sure that it's a beast when run hard and somewhat lacking in feel and control. As someone else said though, probably big bank for the buck. Would I buy one---no. I'm BMW through and through. But I sure would like to drive one. |

Hi,
Ive had 280zx, (first gen) 300zx, and traded in the 350Z for the M coupe. Compared to the M coupe the 350z felt "heavy" from what I remember on the track. I only tracked the 350z once. the 350z was a great car for the price, im sure the 370 will be too. I really dont like the way it looks though. |

I like the looks for the 350z better than the 370z but im sure the 370z will put the 350z to shame in the performance category, depends on the weight though. I have noticed a trend in most car manufactures, they are going more toward the luxary line in all their models. Take the CVT transmission for example, If im not mistaken, Audi came out with it and now its in the new Maxima. Or Valet windows, BMW came out with this wonder and now its found in several Honda models. Along with these new features comes weight, some more than others but I think thats what its going to come down to between the 2 cars.
