Z4 06 vs 07 mpg?

I looked on fueleconomy.gov and it shows the 07 z4 having 1mpg better on the highway than an 06...did they retune the engine or something?

They changed the way they test fuel economy - the cars are the same.

The site has the old testing method and the new one and they are both higher in 07 compared to 06.

If 1 mpg is a major deal breaker in your choice to buy a car, a Z might not be where you want to go. No offense.

The post above shows a 6 spd manual and I was looking at automatics (for my wife)....so they must have changed the final gear ratio or something between 06/07 on the auto trans Z4s.

From previous posts, the auto doesn't get the mpg that a 6spd can get. The auto shifts itself when it thinks it is supposed to around town. I don't use all 6 gears around town, choosing to skip gears. I'm in 6th gear at 45mph. Straight around town driving is a little less than 26 mpg for me.
