Header wrap / coatings

Getting ready to install new (used) headers, and would like to hear experiences of the pros and cons of wraps vs. coatings of any type. Realize that either way they are not all that visible after being installed, but would like to know more about ease of installation, sound qualities, heat containment, etc. Going with the Euro headers, have seen and will follow the published guidelines of the section 1 considerations. Just wanting to know more about actual experiences of wraps and coatings, thanks.

My only personal experience so far is that Nitroplate doesn't return emails or phone calls. If they ever change that policy I may have some useful info to share...

From my experience, coat them. Wraps are decent, but will trap moisture and thus could lead to rusting of the part.

$310 includes coating & return shipping for a set of European M3 headers at jet-hot.com They received mine on Monday and they return shipped them on Tuesday. Just unwrapped them tonight, great improvement over the rusty set I sent them. Also, lifetime guarantee on the coating. I will post some photos tomorrow. Way better than wraps. Will be sending my motorcycle headers next.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Especially about the wraps. Just received my euros yesterday. Not at all rusty, lucked out. Will try to decide between Jet Hot and a local coater who has a good rep.

Ok, so here are the photos as promised. First, the headers prior to shipping, then the return box, then the final product. Order was for 1 set of Z4MC headers:

EXTREME 1300 COATING
2010 - H10 DARK GREY

Please note that a $50 strip fee is added if your parts arrive with a ceramic coating of chrome applied.
