Sorry about that EMP07.

@IN10SS was kind enough to post an update in another thread, thanks for helping out! I'll include it here to keep the discussion on this thread.

Then they put my M on a lift and removed the left side wheels to measure everything. They actually removed the left front suspension later on to get everything they needed. In response to my questions, Christer advised that their offering would be more track oriented and very adjustable. They had some off the shelf stuff that was close to the correct dimensions, but had a lot of study and testing to do before they would know how much development would need to be done.
During all this, I was given a grand tour and made to feel like I was really a VIP. Seriously, every single person there went out of their way to say hi and share a little piece of what they do. The place was amazing. Also, I had mentioned to Christer that my mod budget was low due to a recent purchase of a new to me Hayabusa. So he said if I brought my gear, they would loan me a BMW GS1200 with a full Ohlins Electronic Suspension for the day! Then one staff member spent a good 20 minutes making sure I knew enough about the operation to thoroughly test it, while another guy printed out a 3.5 hour mountain test loop, complete with suggested lookout views and lunch stop. They just gave me the key and said be back before 5.

I realized I probably would never be able to afford their complete kit or push it to it capable limits since my car will never see a track. Ohlins will need a car to trial fit the system when it is ready and although I'm willing to go back again, it would make more sense if it was fitted to a car whose owner was interested in purchasing it. I have no figures, but was led to believe there would be a substantial labor discount and possibly a system discount as well for the lucky guy. This also saves Ohlins from having to return my car to stock afterwards if I can't afford to purchase. I am trying to see if I could possibly swing this but felt the word needs to go out to allow someone else to benefit if possible.
Hey, I got a free T-shirt!
At this point looks like @zubydafa might be the final test car.

Dammit...they need to open up shop here on the West Coast. I'd hop on that opportunity for discounts in less than a heartbeat

I would be up for a road trip. Need to know when they would need the car and details of how long it would take. But I know I'm looking forward to the final product. Let me know who I would need to speak with.

Thanks Krypptic I'll keep you on the list. For now we are covered between IN10SS and zubydafa. But if they drop out or need another car I'll be sure to PM you and let you know the details.

Hi Guys,
Sorry I didn't update this thread. Thanks Beta for getting the info where it needs to be. Zubydafa & I have exchanged PM's and will keep this covered. I also sent an email to Ohlins to see if there were any updates. I haven't heard anything yet but will pass on whatever I learn and do my part to keep this moving forward.

Hate to say it but I"m out! Been riding on my springs and swaybars for the last 10k and got a good deal on what I hope is a sweet setup. If they make this a kit that they carry or if finances permit, I may still pick it up.

We're going to have a custom kit made for us. Because of this it will be slightly more expensive than the regular R&T kit (3-4k aprox, will get complete prices before group buy).

If we can commit at least 10 orders we can have shaker rig testing. Depending on how many commit, 10, 20, etc. we'll have lower prices.

We will need someone to go to the headquarters to go there for measuring. Then a second trip once the parts are assembled for actual testing. This person will get a break on the kit for their help.

The person going to headquarters to measure should have Vorshlag plates. That way they can make sure the kit works in stock form and with Vorshlag camber plates. OEM strut bar would be nice too to make sure everything fits without issue, studs are long enough, etc.

Once I get prices and commitment, I'll start a separate group buy thread. We'll have to put down a 50% deposit so that everything can be done as one batch.

Please confirm that you are still in, and if you're willing to make the trip for testing. Need at least 10 confirmed so we can go ahead.
I think I'm interested. I live in Sweden, 120 km from their head quarters. Or did you already have someone lending out their car to Öhlins? My Z4 M is in the garage all winter, so it could be standing at Öhlins instead.

If camber plates and strut bar is needed I can make that happen as well.

News is there is no news. I don't expect we'll get much until after the holidays.

We're setting this up with Ohlins USA but it would be great to have a contact with HQ if you are able to set that up.

I think it's better if 1 person does all the talking, not a good idea to have a middle man in my opinion. My thought behind offering to lend out my car to HQ was that they might be more easily convinced to make a coilover kit for our cars (maybe HQ doesn't need a huge list of interested people before they have a go at it).

I'm ready to purchase. Really getting tired of my TCK's valve ticking/clunking noise on a daily basis...not to mention the stiff ride

I tried to email them asking for updates. We'll see if they actually get back to me =O
