Is there anyway of finding out if the Ohlins use the same length ARB front end links as OE ?
( e.g. Clubsports come c/w different endlinks)

I'm planning on new ARBs & can get adjustable endlinks as part of the package,
But I need to know the correct length to order.

That's unfortunate....

This doesn't make a lot of financial sense for me either, my Clubsports are basically brand new.

^ But the sale of your CS is a substantial subsidy for a superior product. Makes financial sense to me.

This thing is going slowly, so perhaps those without $$$$ right now will still be able to make it. It's borderline frivolous for me right now too, but I don't want to miss a great opportunity. I'll figure out how to make it work -- depending on final price of course.

Big update incoming (sorry intgr8r! you may not like the news).

The lead time for developing a full kit from Ohlins is going to be 4-6 months. They thought they could re-use the front Z4 race car parts (which also uses a modified e36 front) but instead, they'll have to make something new for us. Hence the long lead time.

Ohlins will only supply the shock bodies. Which means we will have a choice of camber plates, RSMs, rear height adjusters and springs (hyperco or swift).

The good news is that we're going to be able to put together a package with significant savings. I can't guarantee exact numbers but the whole kit (with rsms, springs, height adjusters and camber plates) will be less than 3650.

I want to highlight how great a price this is. These are the best shocks, the best springs (swift) and the best camber plates on the market all for less money than KW Clubsports. Being able to piece together the best of what's available is a big win for us. Bundling them we're going to get a killer price.

So even though it's going to take longer than I expected, I am really happy with how this is turning out.

Does lead time = pay time? If not, when are we expected to pay?

The buyer will wait that long? And since when does a weekend in Buffalo qualify for a couples getaway?

Sorry that I'm a bit behind the curve here, but where does this GB stand in terms of timeline to commit, when $$$ would be due, etc.? Sounds very intriguing, but having just bought my '07 Z4MC, I'm not sure what I'm doing just yet, and this really might be (read: likely is) overkill for me.

Another 4-6month timeline, no $ has been committed yet.

SA with both compression and rebound adjusting together. Most SAs have compression set and only let you adjust rebound (including MCS and TCK).

From Ohlins:

Quote:
Damping rate on the R&T units is fully adjustable and ties compression and rebound together as a matched setting, meaning that in 99% of cases, the units will work superbly, straight ‘out of the box’ with only the smallest adjustments required to suit the car or drivers individual preferences. Despite what other suspension manufacturers may tell you, comfort is king, even when you are trying to set-up a competition machine. Our vast experience on events like the World Rally Championship and Isle of Man TT races has shown us that the fastest drivers and riders are those that aren’t being shaken to bits as they go flat out. The ‘science of compliance’ is a hugely important part of our design work.

Don't have exact dates but payment will probably be a 50% deposit when they start building the kits at the factory. Personal experience tells me that the deposit will happen 4-8 weeks before delivery of the product to your hands, but as of right now there are no set dates.

See above. And yes you need to jump on this, so you have a few months to save up
