Is this definitely changing the thresholds or just turning on the light..... lol?????

turning on TDR isn't changing any values of the understeer oversteer cut in and outs i don't think, but not sure how to check???


is this a way to check the valves for the DTC mode?? and where do i change them, i can see the above germans sentences in the mk 60 module but how do we know if thats for the traction fully on, DTC , or the OFF mode settings?
Did you read this thread? It makes a big difference and just doesn't turn a light on and off. It doesn't just add the 3.0si function since the code is different for open vs LSD diff. The M3 and Z4 are different cars so you can't expect understeer and oversteer values to be set the same. There may be some tweaking with different values that will result in increased performance on the track It would be interesting for you to experiment with different values and report back with your results.

i will do some experiments with the CSL track settings after I've tried DTC, if this doe what i need then i won't even bother...

a little caution is called for, some of the programmable thresholds are done in hex.

Looks like Christmas lights, there's allot lit up even low gas.
BTW, I posted a pic of the DTC light on in the 1st post of this thread.
Now go out and have some fun with it turned on and off, then report your results.

Compared to the ASC/DSC function, DTC mode allows a little more "drift" at low speeds and transverse acceleration (increased rear wheel spin is permissible up to a speed of approx. 45 mph). This allows the engine power output to remain without an extreme reduction of power, improving propulsion.

On approaching higher speeds and transverse acceleration (measured by the yaw rate sensor), the DTC function acts more and more like the "normal" ASC and DSC function and the slip thresholds are reduced back to a conservative mode for stability reasons."

definitely xmas lights... is the pre-ignition sequence as the car wasn't started, when its in storage to try to avoid starting it and letting it idle until its out and actually driving, alot of wear occurs during that time.

i will report back shortly, nearly time to awaken the beast!!

Well, I guess the DTC mode wasn't some big "secret" hidden away from the E85/86 owners. It is very odd it was not activated from the factory!

I finally had an opportunity to get my MR out of storage and play with the DTC function, just on street roads. The test was a rolling 90° corner in second gear with early aggressive acceleration out of the corner. Note: I still had my Fun-flats on and the temp outside was in the low 40's F
First, with full traction control on, as expected, power is cut and the car is stabilized very quickly.
Next, with the DTC function on, a slight step-out of the rear and spinning wheels, it didn't really feel like there was much intervention. With a slight steering correction and slight reduction in accelerator, the car squared up nicely and continued on down the road in an aggressive manor.
Last, I turned off everything, same corner. HOLY CRAP! I almost lost control of the vehicle! I was all over the road, into the oncoming lane. However, as others have said, a quick steering correction and a reduction of gas pedal and the car quickly centers itself. Perhaps I was a bit more aggressive with the final test, I'm not sure. But, it certainly showed me the DTC mode, although it feels like it is not intervening much, I suspect it is still doing quite a bit (which is a GOOD thing AFAIC)

Being new to the Z4M, I'm really looking forward to putting on my extreme summer tires and getting her out to some AutoX events so I can learn more about the handling characteristics at the limits. Like others have said, it seems like she can be a real handful with too aggressive of inputs.

I recently enabled M track mode. Didn't get to test on track yet but I am able to get DTC icon show up on dash. Only line changed was TDR.

Ran Carly and got the following shadow code. Anyone else encounter this?

Try to switch back to normal mode and try carly again. I've never used carly so don't know if enabling TDR effects it.


I did look into carly when I got my F25, but then found out they would charge me annually for the privilege to use it so I looked the other way.

Normal mode as in deactivate TDR or turn DTC off? That code was pulled with full traction on (set back to normal).

Re Carly, I must have got it before they changed to subscription pricing.

I was saying remove the track mode coding returning it back to stock and see if carly still gives the error.

Bump... the previous error seems to have resolved on its own but now I see codes 5DA3 and/or 5D93? These are related to front wheel sensor but I can’t tell if my front sensors are really malfunctioning or if this is just a result of coding?

Many others including myself did this coding without faults.
If it was the coding you would think that others would have the same result that you are experiencing.

Right only asking because it doesn’t actually show up on dash. It only shows up if you go out of your way to pull (shadow) codes. I enabled DTC and disabled TPMS same day and I’m trying to determine what’s a real issue vs coding done incorrectly.
