Air Vent Controller (small chrome piece ) for Z4MR 06

Missing my two chrome vent adjusters in center. I can see the two post holes. BNW dealers says they are not sold separately. Are these the same on all E85's and if I found a Z4 at a salvage yard, anyone know how to pop these out without breaking them ?

ive never tried them, but they would probably be the cheapest solution. if not, try to get the entire assembly at the salvage yard. last link shows how

The silver inserts or the tabs themselves?

Good deal. I had one break on me a while back. It was on the center vent. The chrome piece is the same on all the vents, so I ordered a side vent (cheaper) just to get the chrome piece .... highway robbery. BMW really should sell replacement pieces. That vent tab link looks like a very reasonable alternative.

Yeah, my two missing ones in the center were always staring at me as I got in the car. My mouth dropped as for my first trip into the Stealership, the parts guy says " you have to buy the entire two vent pieces and then remove chrome inserts/air flow direction controllers, that will be $385 " Along with the service dept. telling me $280 for an oil change....Ahhhh welcome to the world of BMW...So my $20 purchase and $80 oil change at the indy made me feel better. The guy on here that sold me mine wanted black ones, so he got four to paint and had four chrome "extras". Not sure why it worked like that, but glad it did.

Cracks me up that venttabs.com actually exists.
How did we survive before the internet?

Yeah, I just really started using forums when I joined this site in Nov. The fast amount of sharable knowledge is truly amazing and I've found SO MUCH info and help from this site.

I'm "officially " starting my detail biz ( still just as a side hustle to my personal training biz ) I got called a DINOSAUR from one of the forum posters, because I've been detailing since 1980 and had no idea that there are soooo many new products/tools/equipment/techniques in the detail world....I'm 53 and feel like I'm back in school....
