Basically the only thing different between headlight switch 0 and 1 is that the interior gauges are not on in pos. 0
....evan the license plate light is enabled as DRL

OK.... here is the coding change needed for you CDN spec car owners.

Coding is in the LCM
there are 2 lines that need to be changed.

1. DAUERFAHRLICHT_US translation; Daytime Running lights USA
CDN car is coded to aktiv
change to nicht_aktiv

2. PO_ALS_DRL translation; Position lights as DRL (bumper sidelights)
CDN car is coded to aktiv
change to nicht_aktiv

this will leave just the inner angel eyes "on" as DRL

****this was done on Z4M, not sure how this applies to Z4
okay...I have read this a few times, yet fail to 'read' what is different.

So are you saying after you code this all makers lights run as DRL? And the 'ring' is the only item on the headlights? Not the actual xenon bulb....??

Sorry for being a dunce, but somehow I can't figure out exactly what is different.

Probably as I have a US Spec car that had the DRL lights turned on and all I have is the xenon light on at maybe 60% or so.

So I'd actually like all the marker lights on, and perhaps just the 'ring' on. BTW...I have an 06 Z4...

Thanks,

Thanks,
For option 1 coded as "activ", all the external lights are on, exactly as if you turned on the headlights at night.
That's how CDN spec cars are coded.
Most of us want all those extra lights off.

US spec has only the inner angel eye as DRL and nothing else.
If you have the xenon on, someone made a change when the car was imported.
(My car is also US import)

I'm not sure it's possible to do what you want; have everything except the xenon.

The 2nd one turns on the bumper round markers as DRL

...hope that helps.

Did you ever figure out how to code off both standing/orange lights below the headlight?
Im doing morimoto halos retrofit they have two colors white witch is connected to DRL and orange witch is should be getting signal from turn signal but since turn signal in our cars is also standing light it cousing me problemm so I decide to code off them.
Thanks in advance
