3.0si Magnaflow exhaust
Hi,
There isn't much info at all on Non-M exhausts so I thought I would ask here. I don't want to shell out $1k for a higher exhaust, so I was looking into getting the Magnaflow 11379 universal muffler from Amazon. I was wondering if anyone used this muffler or know if the dimensions allow for a shop to remove the stock muffler and easily replace it with this. It's a dual inlet/outlet muffler with 2.5" pipes for both sides. I would just like to make sure it will work before I buy it and bring it to the shop. Also if you have any suggestions on tips you can post those too. I've got a few in mind but it's nice to have more options. Link to muffler: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A1SUNH3MKBB32Q

I did not like volume and the rasp from this setup using the same can you are looking at
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=972678 Yours may be fine with stock diameter pipes and everything else left as is

Hmm I'm not sure if I like the single pipe out personally, id rather keep it dual outlet if I could.
I don't plan on modifying anything else in the exhaust so I may not get the rasp you experienced barton. I was curious if anyone had done just a magnaflow muffler.

I enjoyed that one, although I'd rather just replace the stock muffler back, I think that would be a little cheaper, and I hope they dont have to fabricate any pipes.

The state I live in police don't really care, and we don't do emissions, so you're basically free to do whatever.
With the odd shape of the muffler, I may just do a muffler delete, and maybe go the route of adding a muffler at the resonator later.

I have a 3.0si myself and have been considering the same mod, Exist. Please continue to update the thread if you find anything on this!

I'm not sure how the exhaust will ft currently, due to the weird sizing of the stock muffler. The exhaust shop cant really tell until I bring the muffler in, I may have to pause this mod for a bit.
koruptor The easiest and cheapest mod to do is a muffler delete, and there's nice sounding videos on Youtube.

I went ahead and took out my resonators (secondary cats?), those oblong looking pipes last year. I got a bit of burble and some muffled pops on lift. The sound isn't quite where I'd like it though. In hind sight maybe going straight pipe from the cats to the back box with an x pipe replacing that center section might've done it
